  • Knowledge of night and day on earth  -

The cycle of night and day is a result of the Earth's rotation on its axis. Earth takes approximately 24 hours to complete one full rotation. As a result of this rotation, different parts of the Earth's surface are exposed to the Sun's light at different times, creating the cycle of day and night.

  • During the daytime, when a particular region of the Earth is facing towards the Sun, it is illuminated by sunlight, creating what we perceive as daylight. This is when the Sun is visible in the sky and provides warmth and light. As the Earth continues to rotate, the region that was previously illuminated by the Sun enters the shadow created by the planet itself, and this is when nighttime occurs. The absence of direct sunlight leads to darkness and cooler temperatures.

The line that separates the illuminated part of the Earth from the shadowed part is called the "terminator." This line moves as the Earth rotates, causing the transition from day to night and vice versa. The Earth's rotation is also the reason why we see the Sun rise in the east and set in the west.

It's important to note that the length of day and night changes throughout the year due to the tilt of the Earth's axis and its elliptical orbit around the Sun. This variation in day length is responsible for the changing seasons. During summer, days are longer because the North or South Pole (depending on the hemisphere) is tilted more towards the Sun, causing sunlight to spread over a larger area and leading to longer daylight hours. In winter, the opposite occurs, resulting in shorter days.

In summary, the rotation of the Earth on its axis is responsible for the cycle of day and night. Daytime occurs when a region is facing the Sun, and nighttime occurs when that region is facing away from the Sun. This rotation, along with the Earth's tilt and orbital path, also contributes to the changing lengths of day and night throughout the year and the occurrence of seasons.

  • The sun cause day abd night on eart -

  • The Sun is responsible for the cycle of day and night on Earth. As our planet rotates on its axis, different parts of it are exposed to the Sun's light and warmth. This exposure creates daytime, when the Sun is visible in the sky, and nighttime, when the side of the Earth facing away from the Sun experiences darkness. The rotation of the Earth takes roughly 24 hours to complete, leading to the alternating pattern of day and night that we observe.
